The Rankin County Sheriffs Street Narcotics Unit conducted a “buy/bust” operation on Pearson Road in Pearl.

During the undercover operation, narcotics investigators negotiated the purchase of half an ounce of methamphetamine ice.

The suspect, 33-year-old Pamela Jean Lois Mcgriff, met undercover deputies in the parking lot of a business on Pearson Road with the intent of delivering the half ounce of methamphetamine in exchange for $300.00.

When McGriff arrived at the location with the drugs and made the exchange, deputies immediately moved in and arrested her without incident.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s office said that the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected in the near future.

“These drugs were intended to be distributed among the citizens of Rankin County,” said Sheriff Bryan Bailey. “We will continue to do our best to protect all of our citizens and children from the evil effects of drugs on our community.”

McGriff will appear before the Rankin County District Attorney, Michael Guest and the Rankin County Court Judge, Ken McDaniel September 12 at 9:00 a.m.
