Yazoo City Murder Suspect In Custody

YAZOO CITY, Miss – Mississippi Bureau of  Investigation agents have arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting death  in Yazoo City.

Johnny Brown, 36, is charged with capital murder, conspiracy to commit capital murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and a felon in possession of a firearm for the November 2013 death of Ricky Saxton. His body was found in a remote field in  Yazoo County.  Saxton had been shot in the head.

Brown and his wife, Shontina Brown, 23, were named as suspects Monday.  “This has been a difficult case, MBI Director Lt. Col. Larry Waggoner said.  “Our investigators have been doggedly pursuing leads and working tirelessly to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Shontina Brown made her initial court appearance Tuesday morning.  She is being held without bond.  Bond was also denied Tuesday afternoon for her husband.
