HOMES COUNTY, Miss.- After an argument Sunday morning one man was left dead.
It took place between one group from Morton and another group from Yazoo City. 42-year-old Randall “Randy” Whitworth of Yazoo City was shot after a confrontation in the parking lot of Spell Club in the Coxburg community.
Sheriff Willie March told WLOX that the incident happened around 1:25 a.m.. Whitworth was shot at least once in the upper body and died on his way to UMMC.
Greg L. Watkins, 41, of Morton has turned himself in and faces murder charges. This is the counties sixth murder this year according to authorities.
No other injuries were reported and the motive of the altercation has not been found. The investigation is ongoing.
