LEXINGTON, Miss. – Was it manslaughter or self defense?
Officers were called out early Sunday morning to the Spell Club in Lexington. There they found 42-year-old Randy Whitworth with a bullet hole in his chest. Whitworth was taken to UMMC but died on the ride there.
Witnesses say a fight originally broke out between two groups off men inside the night club, which eventually moved out onto the parking lot.
That’s when Greg Watkins, 41, of Morton, pulled out his gun and fired.
He says it was self defense, police think it’s manslaughter.
