History Made in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY – He’ll be the first black Sheriff since the 1800’s.

Travis Patten has been sworn in for the job in Adams County.

He’s the first African-American to hold the position in 140 years.
Chancery Judge George Ward tells WLBT that Patten’s election shows that the county is making progress.
Patten says, his focus will be to create a better bond between law enforcement and the community.
