JACKSON, Miss.- The magnolia state is struggling when it comes to health.

The Mississippi State Medical Association handed out it’s annual public health report card and as you can probably guess, Mississippi struggled.

40 percent of Mississippi adults have high blood pressure and over 30 percent say they haven’t done any type physical activity this past month.

Dr. Dan Edney is the President of the MSMA and talked about one of the reasons Mississippians struggle.

Right now, over 20 percent of Mississippians smoke, they hoped to reduce that 30 percent by the year 2025.
