MOSS POINT, Miss. — That’s right, a five-year-old hero.
Stevie Thames is a kindergarten student at Cherokee Elementary, but his age and inexperience did not stop him from helping to save the lives of his mom and two sisters.
The family was in a car wreck recently and Stevie’s mom says if it wasn’t for him unfastening their seat-belts, the family would not have made it out alive. The Moss Point Fire Department has made him an honorary firefighter. And on Wednesday, they showed up at his school and gave Stevie a special badge and fireman’s hat for his heroic effort.
