Over the past month, the Pearl Police Department, along with other agencies, have conducted an operation to eliminate criminal activity in their community. They said their objective was to provide their citizens with a peaceful and secure place to live, work and play in.

The operation began weeks ago with investigations by detectives within the criminal investigations, narcotics, and warrants divisions, and all of the arrests were made in one day.

They began with the execution of several narcotics search and arrest warrants. During the execution of these search warrants, detectives located and seized approximately 17 firearms and various quantities of illegal narcotics, mainly methamphetamine.

They then conducted residency checks of all registered sex offenders in the city of Pearl. In total, 38 verifications were completed and were all found to be in compliance.

They also executed misdemeanor level arrest warrants and conducted safety checkpoints and saturation patrols at various locations throughout the city. During these activities, three individuals with out of state felony warrants were apprehended along with locating over two pounds of marijuana and other narcotics. Numerous other arrests and citations were made as well.

In total, 22 felony arrests consisting of over 30 felony offenses and 41 misdemeanor arrests consisting of 52 misdemeanors were made, along with the seizure of over two pounds of marijuana, over 30 grams of methamphetamine and 18 firearms.
