Bill Says no Permit Needed to Carry Concealed Gun

JACKSON, Miss.- You may longer need a state-issued permit to carry a concealed gun in a purse, briefcase or other fully enclosed satchel, under Senate Bill 2394.

The bill passed the House and is expected to pass the Senate in the next few days. Then off to the governor’s desk it will go where it is also expected to be signed.

The governor’s spokeswoman, Nicole Webb, says Bryant “is a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights” and “absolutely” intends to sign the bill into law.

The bill will reduce fees for people to get and renew a concealed-carry permit and it also says that disabled veterans, active-duty military and current or honorably retired law enforcement officers don’t need a permit to carry a concealed gun.
