SOUTH MISSISSIPPI- Presidential hopeful Mark Everson was absent from the CNN Republican debate because he was speaking in South Mississippi.
The GOP candidate and former IRS commissioner was speaking to the Harrison County Republican Club in Gulfport at the time of the debate.
“I’ve run the immigration system of the country, that’s an equally important point, and I helped create the homeland security department. So, I know a great deal about taxes immigration and security. In fact, more than most of the republican field,” said Everson.
Everson has worked for Reagan and Bush and says he stands firm on what he believes qualifies him to be the next president.
Since his bid in March he’s been campaigning in Iowa, and New Hampshire. However, he says his most important job is being a dad. WLOX reports he is hoping to gain momentum as his campaign continues.
