Former north Mississippi band director indicted on child sex crimes

David Chambers, former band director at Caledonia School, has been indicted on three counts of touching a child for lustful purposes.

Investigators say the events involved three different children and occurred off school grounds while the band was traveling for school functions.

In March, the Lowndes County School District accepted Chambers’ resignation when he came under allegations and subsequent investigations. Parents and district administrators alleged Chambers had been engaged in sexual misconduct with students.

Chambers faces sentencing in November.
