Here’s a quick look at what’s happening across the state this weekend.

In North Mississippi, head over to The 2017 Annual Ten Minute Play Festival in Oxford. The plays will be presented at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center Sept. 29th  through Oct.1st. The festival will be Produced by Theater Oxford. The 2017 Festival will feature the Grand Prize Winner from Theatre Oxford’s National 10 Minute Play Contest, “Being Immortal,” and the Audience Award Winner from the Contest, “As I Lay Drinking.”

In Central Mississippi, share some love and celebrate Mardi Gras in the Fall with the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi. The Jackson Walk will be held at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company, in Jackson. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. and the walk will take place at 2:00 p.m. followed by a picnic lunch at the finish line. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume and decorate their strollers and wagons as floats.

In South Mississippi, check out the Cruisin’ the Coast festival on the coast. It’s hailed as being America’s Largest Block Party. Car enthusiasts from 41 states plus Canada and Sweden will be there and each venue is set up as a mini festival with a stage for live bands, and vendors for food and event merchandise. The activities begin on Sunday and will continue all week long.
