Governor Phil Bryant has said that he will make a decision tomorrow about whether the Jackson Public School District will be taken over by the state.

Representative John Moore, Chairperson of Education, spoke with News Mississippi about the entire process that has transpired thus far.

“The state department did their job…”

Moore said that regardless of the decision tomorrow, changes need to happen within JPS.

“It is a hard call to make, to take over a district,” said Moore.

“Whichever the direction that the situation goes, I stand ready to do what we as policy makers, or what I as a policy maker can do to assist in the improvement of the Jackson Public School System,” said Moore.
