After what was a roller coaster of a regional in Tallahassee for the Bulldogs, they’ll hit the road once again and head to Nashville for this weekend’s Super Regional matchup with Vanderbilt.

Both teams entered their respective regionals as a #2 seeds, so it was up to NCAA to decide which team got to host the Super Regional. Dudy Noble would’ve provided an undeniable advantage for MSU, but instead, Vandy got the nod to host the 3-game series with a trip to Omaha on the line.

MSU got swept at home by the Commodores earlier in the season to open SEC play, but this Bulldog team has gotten stronger as the season progressed. Time and time again they showed that they cannot be counted out, no matter the circumstance with 18 of their wins coming in come-from-behind fashion. Vanderbilt will undoubtedly have a much more confident MSU team to face this time around.

After dropping game one of the Tallahassee Regional 20-10 to Oklahoma, MSU battled back. The next day, they trailed 2-0 in the 9th against FSU and walked-off with a 3-run home run, and they followed that up with three more wins a row to earn their spot in the Super Regional.

Vanderbilt put on quite a display of their own in the Clemson regional, especially in their final game. The Commodores were able to beat St. John’s on Friday and Clemson on Saturday to set up a final with the Tigers on Sunday. In an offense explosion, Vandy scored 19 runs and they matched an NCAA record with nine home runs. After getting roughed up by Oklahoma, MSU’s pitching staff showed the ability to bounce back and they’ll need to find that same rhythm to stifle the Vanderbilt offense this weekend.

Ticket info can be found on MSU’s athletic website.

First pitch on Friday is set for 7 p.m.
