JACKSON, Miss.- Mississippi has the second lowest abortion rate in America. United States abortion rates are at its lowest since 1973.
From 2008 to 2011 there had been a 13% decrease in the United States abortion rate according to the latest survey done by Guttmacher Institute. According to the report, the abortion rate dropped to less than 17 abortions per 1,000 women ages 15-44 in 2011. Mississippi is sitting at 3.7% after Wyoming who only has 1.1%.
