Another McDaniel Delay: He’ll Decide Wednesday If He’ll Appeal

ELLISVILLE, Miss.–The announcement will not come today after all from state Sen. Chris McDaniel on whether he will appeal Judge Hollis McGehee’s decision to throw out his lawsuit against Sen. Thad Cochran’s campaign to become the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate.

The judge decided last week that McDaniel waited too late, according to the letter of the law, to file his election challenge in court. The law says no longer than 20 days. McDaniel’s camp waited 41 days.

McDaniel has one more option, and that’s to take it to the highest court in Mississippi. He said last week that he would make an announcement today on whether or not he would do that.

Now word has come down that that announcement will not come until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, McDaniel is the scheduled speaker at a Constitution Week Barbecue in Jackson Spt. 13. A flyer being circulated called the event a “patriotic fundraiser”. Other speakers include Wild Bill for America.
