Anti-Abortion Supporters on the Clock for Signatures

JACKSON, Miss. — Abortion opponents have until Wednesday to collect 107,000 signatures of registered voters to get a constitutional amendment on 2015 ballot that, if approved, would declare life begins at conception.

If the  deadline is missed, the initiative will die.  Those against the initiative say it’s a waste of time because the voters have already spoken, rejecting a nearly identical life-at-fertilization amendment in 2011.
