KOSCIUSKO, Miss. – Jobs are headed to Kosciusko with the $5 million expansion of Attala Steel. It was a ribbon cutting Tuesday for the new 30,000 square foot facility, creating 20 new jobs in the area.
“As three different processes of the steel manufacturing industry all come together in Attala County, there’s not any place in the United States that I know of where this is happening,” said Gov. Phil Bryant.
Attala Steel produces steel beams used for solar installations throughout the US and other countries.
This was glimmer of hope for Kosciusko, they have been down in the dumps since their main business M&F Bank merged with Renasant in Tupelo. A lot of people lost their jobs.
“We believe in Kosciusko, and we believe in Mississippi. What is good for our city and state is good for us all,” said Billy Atwood, owner of Attala Steel Industries
