Black Bear Startles Students at MSU Meridian

MERIDIAN, Miss. — Monday was a first day back to school for college students at MSU’s Meridian campus, and apparently it was the first day of school for a black bear. According to WTOK, the bear wondered around campus for a while and even showed up at a local donut shop.

Remember, if you see a black bear the best thing you can do is call 1-800-BE-SMART and let state wildlife officers deal with it. Black bears are protected federally and hurting one could mean a big fine and even jail time.
