Bloody Clue; Warren County Home Covered in Red After Assault

Warren County, Miss. – A woman is facing attempted murder, burglary, home invasion and robbery charges in Warren County after police found a 70-year-old woman barely conscious and covered in blood inside her home Sunday.

Kimberly Nicole Chapman, 23, was arrested after she ran out of gas on Highway 80.  Police who stopped to help her say she had blood on her clothes and an ID in her purse that did not belong to her.

Officers who went to the address listed on the ID, found the 70-year-old victim and rushed her to the hospital.  She was in fair condition Monday.

A baby in the car with Chapman was taken into custody by the Department of Human Services.

Investigators say Chapman was an acquaintance of her victim, but the two are not related.  Police are still investigating and said more arrests are possible.
