Bulldogs Stay at No. 4 in AP Poll, Ole Miss Drops Ten Points, JSU Prevails in SWC Match-up

STARKVILLE, Miss.–Mississippi State stays No. 4 in the college AP Poll from this weekend after their  enormous 51 to 0 win over the Vandy Commodores Saturday. Meanwhile, Ole Miss dropped ten points from No. 8 to No. 18.

That had everything to do with their shutout loss to the Razorbacks of Fayetteville, 30 to 0 Saturday.

The college playoff rankings are due out Tuesday evening. The Egg Bowl, between State and Ole Miss is Saturday, 2:30 p.m. in Oxford. CBS will telecast what is being called the “Egg Bowl for the ages”, after big wins by both teams this season.

After Saturday’s win, MSU has the first ten game winning record in school history.

Meanwhile, in the big SWAC match-up, it was Jackson State beating Alcorn, 34 to 31.

While the Egg Bowl is happening, the Delta State Statesmen (Fighting Okra) are beginning the Div. II playoffs in Cleveland against the Univ. of West Georgia.
