CARA Hosts 7th Annual “Dog Days of Summer” Fundraiser to Help the Animals (VIDEO)

JACKSON, Miss.- Live music, a carnival, snow cones and playing with puppies, it’s a fundraiser to help out your furry buddies.

Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, CARA, is hosting its largest fundraiser of the year, the 7th annual Dog Days of Summer, is on Saturday, August 23rd. The festivities will last from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pelahatchie Shore Park on the reservoir.

There will be food, live music from Steve Deaton, a petting zoo by the Jackson Zoo, obedience and K-9 unit demos, a pet contest, arts and crafts and much more.

The no kill shelter will have 18 dogs at the event ready to find a forever home.

Voluntary admission is a bag of dog food. The children’s carnival cost $5.
