Challenged Senate Race Comes to Close, Dearing to take Oath Today

Jackson, Miss– The challenged District 37 senate race is officially over, after a 47-3 vote to confirm Democratic Senator Bob Dearing as the winner.

Dearing had won over former Senator Melanie Sojourner by just 64 votes. She challenged, saying poll workers may have helped in the decision-making. The Senate voted last night, 47-3 to confirm Dearing the winner.  Chris McDaniel, Angela Hill and Michael Watson voted to keep Sojourner. Other senators could still question the decision, reports WJTV.
