Child Abuse May Have Taken His Life

HORN LAKE, Miss.- The boy was only 11 years old; Justin Tyler Raines was killed from what investigators believe was child abuse. He was in the care, or lack of, his father Jack Raines and stepmother Amanda Raines. They have both been charged with capital murder and have a bond set for $250,000 each.

The neighbors said he looked very thin and thought he was only 7 or 8 years old. Family members said the parents kept the boy away from them and no one had seen him in years. Tyler was also the only child that was home schooled while his siblings went to public school.

The birth mother saw him for the first time in over a year at the funeral home and said he looked abused and emaciated.
