CLEVELAND, Miss.–Amidst all the praise being heaped by the load on Mississippi State and Ole Miss for their records and their prestigious wins, there’s a Division II school in Mississippi that is also getting some national props. That’s Delta State.

They are now number 11 in the AFCA Div. II Coaches Poll.

“They’re 4-0 on the year,” said broadcaster Richard Cross on Head to Head. “They just beat the pants off of Florida Tech, 58-20.”

So far their wins include Fort Valley State, Valdosta State, Central State and Florida Tech.

The Statesmen, or “Fighting Okra”, will take on Shorter University today at 6.
