Corrections: Inmate Was Walking Down the Street When Captured

KILN, Miss.–Escaped pro burglar Robert Lumpkin is back where he belongs today after being captured Sunday just after noon in Kiln. He had walked away from a Miss. Dept. of Corrections work center in Harrison County and had been on the run since Wednesday.

MDOC reported in a news release that Lumpkin, who was serving a 12 and a half-year sentence on burglary charges, was walking down a city street in broad daylight and was captured without incident. A phone call from a citizen tipped them off.

Lumpkin now faces an additional five years if he’s convicted of escape.
