The Jackson Police Department has confirmed that one person is dead after a wreck involving two 18-wheelers, two cars, and a pick-up truck on I-10.
It happened near I-10 on Wednesday at exit 68. An 18-wheeler hit a truck going eastbound. The collision pushed the truck over the intersection bridge.
The victim was thrown from the truck.
The 18-wheelers involved began leaking diesel fuel causing traffic back ups around 4:00 p.m. Officials began diverting traffic to exit 68 and exit 57.
