DNA Test Leads to Prison Time After Handicapped Person Becomes Pregnant

CARTHAGE, Miss.–This story might be enough to make you cringe. A 29-year-old woman who has cerebral palsy and is mostly incapacitated turned up pregnant and a DNA test led cops to a 19-year-old man from Carthage, who is on his way to the state pen.

Thunder Willis got 10 years, six of those suspended, so he’ll serve four. Judge Vernon Cotten also ordered Willis to undergo alcohol and drug treatment, attend sex offender counseling and complete the GED program while in custody of the Miss. Dept. of Corrections. Upon his release, he will serve three years on post release supervision.

Atty. Gen. Jim Hood said the victim was mostly an invalid and was under the care of family. The abuse might never have been founf out if she had not turned up pregnant.
