Drive by shooting leaves one dead

Jackson police are investigating the city’s 38th homicide of the year after the death of a 21-year-old man was reported. 

In the early morning hours of Monday August 21, police were called to the scene of a stalled vehicle in the lane of traffic near Watkins Drive an I-220 South.

When they arrived they found 21-year-old Malik McIntee with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead. Officers said he was the only one in the gray Nissan Altima that had sustained heavy damage due to gunfire.

So far no suspects or witnesses have come forward. Police are asking for any information into McIntee’s death. Please call 601-960-1234 or 601-355-TIPS.
