PONTOTOC, Miss.- A couple was found beaten and dead inside their Ecru home over the weekend.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports Carl Hughes, 26, was arrested Wednesday in the deaths of Evelyn Baker, 57, and her husband Don Baker, 70.
Police say a family member found the Bakers Sunday morning at their home in the Shady Grove community. Both were dressed for bed. Police said she was found in the kitchen and he was in the bedroom.
Hughes is being held without bond in the Pontotoc County Jail, charged with two counts of capital murder.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
