Eight Women Arrested for SNAP Fraud

JONES COUNTY, Miss.- Eight Jones County women were arrested for food stamp fraud.

Investigators with the Mississippi Department of Human Services and Jones County Sheriff’s Office took Amanda Black, Kimberly Hogan, Jalesia Haynes, Melissa Mapp, Cindy Hernandez, Kisha Howard, Angela Pitts and Casey Holliman into custody on suspicion of withholding income or household information that would deem the ineligible to receive the government benefits.

Ken Palmer with MDHS told WDAM, the investigation of these eight women found $74,926 worth of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fraud over the past fiscal year.

They could face felony charges.
