An Ellisville woman has been charged after she was found to have meth in the car with her baby.

On Monday, Ellisville Police Officers found a vehicle parked at a store that was closed for the night. When officers approached the vehicle, they found 18-year-old Madeline Jane Ryan asleep in the front seat and her baby in the backseat.

After waking her up, officers were suspicious that she may be intoxicated. They asked Ryan if she had drugs in the car, and she told them that there was meth inside.

She was then taken into custody and charged with Felony Possession of Meth, and Felony Child Abuse. In a Facebook post, the Ellisville PD made it clear that this will not be tolerated.

“The Ellisville Police Department will not condone people putting children in the presence of illegal drugs. Anyone who would put their child around such a substance, should, and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Ryan was taken to the Jones County Jail and, and her bond was set at $100,000.
