escaped inmate captured in Ocean Springs

The Mississippi Department of Corrections said 47-year-old Michael Wilson, also known as “Pretty Boy Floyd,” has been captured two days after he escaped from a state prison. Wilson was caught in Ocean Springs Saturday evening.

An inmate in South Mississippi has escaped. The D’Iberville Criminal Investigations Division received information related to the possible whereabouts of the escaped convict, Michael Floyd Wilson (aka: “Pretty Boy Floyd”).

Wilson is a 48-year-old white male, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He stands at 5’11” and is 150lbs. Police believe he has long, curly hair and severe injuries to one of his arms. He may be seeking medical attention.

Wilson was convicted of two homicides and was serving two life sentences when he escaped from a Leaksville Mississippi correctional facility at approximately 1:00 PM Thursday, July 5th.

Wilson has been tracked to George County and Ocean Springs and is believed to be traveling to the City of D’Iberville.

The D’Iberville Police Department is working with MDOC and the US Marshall Service along with all the other coastal agencies in the apprehension of Wilson.  Police are urging the public to contact their local law enforcement agency if they come into contact with Wilson.
