Federal Help for MS Storm Disaster is on the Clock Today

JACKSON, Miss. — If you were impacted by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding April 28 through May 3, today is the deadline to register for help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, FEMA and SBA says nearly $17.7 million has been approved already for residents in 12 Mississippi counties.  Of that amount, almost $12.5 million is in low interest disaster loans through the SBA.  FEMA has approved almost $5.2 million in assistance. 

Residents in Itawamba, Jones, Leake, Lee, Lowndes, Madison, Montgomery, Rankin, Simpson, Warren, Wayne and Winston counties could be eligible .  For more information, call 800-621-3362 or visit FEMA.gov.
