Federal Indictment in Deaths of Cyclists on Natchez Trace

TISHOMINGO, Miss. – A Tishomingo man has been indicted for a fatal August 6 wreck on the Natchez Trace.

Investigators said Donnie Sartain, 49, crossed the center line and hit a motorcycle just north of Pharr Mounds in Prentiss County. Killed were Gerard Nasult and Pauline Demeres, both of Canada.

Sartain was arrested on the scene for suspicion of DUI.  A federal grand jury indicted him Wednesday on two counts of driving under the influence resulting in death, and two counts of negligent homicide/manslaughter.

So far, no trial date has been set.
