PINE BELT- The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved more public assistance for Forrest, Lamar, and Perry Counties.

The request was made after the Jan. 21 tornado by Gov. Phil Bryant. He asked for public assistance for individuals and businesses effected in the Pine Belt.

Public assistance will give reimbursements to the state and local governments as they rebuild and remove debris. It will also go to certain non-profits that suffered damaged infrastructure.

For residents in these counties they can register online for FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program at www.disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA.
