First Choctaw Woman Chief Keeps Her Election Win for Second Term in Office

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. – Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Chief Phyliss J. Anderson will keep her job as Tribal leader.

A complaint filed just days after the August 25, 2015 election for Tribal Chief alleging voter irregularities has been dismissed in its entirety.  The Tribal Election Committee said Friday that the complaint, filed by election challenger Miko Denson, lacked merit.  The decision means Anderson is the certified winner and officially re-elected to her second term as Tribal Chief.
