GULFPORT, Miss. – An Alabama man is scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court in Gulfport Tuesday on charges of shooting a dolphin in the Mississippi Sound from his boat.
Brent Buchanan is a commercial fisherman; and investigators say he shot the dolphin with a shotgun over the summer last year.
Buchanan has been charged in what is called a bill of criminal information, which generally means he has agreed to waive indictment and plead guilty.
