Forty Guns Stolen, Two Lexington Men Arrested, Guns Still Not Recovered

KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Forty guns were stolen on July 28 in the break-in of Central Mississippi Firearms on Hwy. 35 in Kosciusko. Now two men from Lexington, Cory Hughes and Estell Cook, have been arrested.

The Kosciusko Police Department in a joint investigation with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, made the arrests, according to Breezynews,com and News Mississippi affiliate 98.3 The Groove.

Hughes, a 32 year old black male, was arrested on July 31. Cook, a 25 year old black male, was arrested on August 16. Both men were arrested without incident.

The Kosciusko Police Department credits Durant Police as well as the Madison County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was also instrumental in the case.

Both men are also facing pending federal charges.
