Four men arrested in Claiborne County murder

CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Miss.- Police have arrested four men in association with a body found on the side of the road.

A driver on Willow Road alerted authorities when they found the body of a man lying on the road early Friday morning. The body belinged to 25-year-old Kordell Bates.

Bates was found shot in the face northeast of Port Gibson.

Police have arrested four men, 21-year-old Marqyauis Shaw, 23-year-old Brian Eggleston Jr. 19-year-old Cedrick Amohr Jr, of Port Gibson, and 23-year-old Jodarius Grisby of Hermanville.

County Sheriff Frank Davis told WLBT that all four men were riding together at the time of the shooting. Police believe Bates was killed because he testified against gang members in a murder trial.

Davis is seeking maximum penalty for the crime from the DA’s office.

Shaw is allegedly the driver of the vehicle that was apart of a high speed chase Saturday that started in Vicksburg and ended in Claiborne county with speeds over 120 miles per hour.
