Intense heat expected across the Delta today with highs peaking in the mid 90s. Excessive humidity will combine with lots of sun to create dangerous heat throughout the region: expect heat indices upwards of 100 degrees.
That heat spreading through the central and southern reaches of the state as well. Highs reaching the mid 90s will mark your Friday, with a few scattered thunderstorms likely for the afternoon. While these may bring some sweet relief from the heat, don’t expect too much for too long: remember to hydrate and take frequent breaks if you’re working outside.
