A State of Emergency has been signed by Governor Phil Bryant as a result of the severe storms and flooding that have impacted the state since the beginning of May.

Major flooding, backwater flooding, and multiple closures of state, county, and local roads have impacted multiple counties throughout the state.  There has also been damage in Pike and Amite Counties, due to possible tornadoes.

The State Emergency Operations Center is activated and has coordinated state resources to the county level through the response phase.

Residents are encouraged to report damages to their local emergency management office. To find your county’s emergency management office,  visit http://www.msema.org/county-ema/.
