Governor Phil Bryant has issued an executive order to lower all state and American flags on state property in Lincoln County, to honor those whose lives were lost in the shooting spree on Saturday.

A total of eight people were killed. Willie Cory Godbolt has been charged with one county of capital murder and seven counts of first degree murder.

The flags will be lowered from sunrise to sunset on Thursday.

“State and American flags on state property in Lincoln County will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, June 1, in memory of the eight people lost in the terrible tragedy there over the weekend,” said Governor Bryant. “Please continue to pray for those suffering with the loss of a loved one.”

The funeral arrangements for all eight of the victims have been released. The first funeral, for Lincoln County Deputy William Durr, is being held Thursday at 1pm at Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
