Grab a cold one! Your town could soon be able to sell alcohol

Your dry town could soon be selling cold brew and boxed wine.

Governor Phil Bryant has approved HB 1321, which allows cities with populations over 1,500, the right to vote on whether or not to allow the selling of beer and light wine.

For towns to be eligible, they have to be within three miles of a city or county that permits the sale.

The bill passed the state Senate by a vote of 44-8 and passed the House by a vote of 91-30.

Recently, state representatives voted to allow small craft breweries the right to sell the light wine or beer product they produce on-site under certain restrictions.
