Grand Opening Could be GRAND Indeed…

PEARL, Miss. The state’s largest outlet mall, the Outlets of Mississippi, officially opens Thursday.

And if you are planning to head out that way, be sure you take your patience with you.  “We are expecting a big crowd,” said Outlets manager Cathy Hackshaw.

Parking could be your first challenge.  The number of cars expected could nearly double the amount of parking spaces.  But Hackshaw says they do have a plan.  “Our security company will have workers out there guiding you to open parking spaces.”

And part-b of that plan: “for the grand opening, all mall employees are asked to please park at the baseball field.  There will be a shuttle buses to pick you up and get you to work.  It will run every 15 minutes,” said Wadella Johnson, a security guard working for the mall.

The grand opening kicks off at 9:45 am.  Stores will open at 10 a.m.
