Early Wednesday morning, officers with the Hattiesburg Police Department were flagged down on Broadway Drive in reference to a possible dead body.
Upon entering a hotel room, the officers observed an unresponsive man. First responders and the Deputy Coroner arrived shortly after the body was found. Despite emergency personnel efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
In their initial statement, the Hattiesburg PD said that investigators had a person of interest in custody. That person is still in police custody but has not been charged in the case that is being investigated as a homicide. The HPD has released the following photos of another person of interest in the case:
