Heat climbing across the state: 7-14-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across the Magnolia state.

In north Mississippi, there is a heat advisory in effect from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. tonight. During the day, mostly sunny skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will climb into the mid-90s and heat index readings will range from 104 to 109. Tonight, mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will dip down into the mid to upper 70s.

In central Mississippi, sunny skies until late afternoon, then becoming partly sunny. Some patchy fog expected in the morning along with a slight chance of showers in the morning and some thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to mid-90s and heat index readings will be anywhere from 101 to 106. In the evening, a slight chance of showers after midnight and some areas of fog are expected after midnight. Lows will drop down into the mid to upper 70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to mid-90s and heat index readings will be around 104 to 109. At night, partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening and lows will be in the mid-70s.
