Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across Mississippi.

In north Mississippi, expect mostly sunny skies with some patchy fog in the morning. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will reach the lower 90s and the highest heat index readings will range from 100 to 102. At night, mostly clear skies with patchy fog after midnight and lows will be in the lower to mid-70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny skies are expected today with some patchy dense fog in the morning. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will climb into the lower 90s. Heat index readings will range anywhere between 100 to 105. In the evening, partly cloudy skies expected with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the night. There will also be some areas of fog after midnight. Lows will dip down into the lower 70s.

In south Mississippi, there will be some patchy fog in the morning and a chance of showers and thunderstorms likely throughout the day. Highs will near 90 and the highest heat index readings will be around 100 to 102. Tonight, mostly cloudy skies are expected with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms along with some patchy fog continuing after midnight. Lows will dip down into the lower 70s.
