Heat wave continues, little rain chances provide little hope for relief

JACKSON, MISS–The dangerous heat wave continues to grip the state—while rain chances exist, it’s not enough to bust the heat.

Starting in Central Mississippi, a 20 percent chance of rain today, mainly after 2PM. Otherwise, partly sunny with a high near 98 degrees. Heat index values as high at 105. Tonight mostly cloudy with a low around 77. Tomorrow, a 20 percent chance of showers under partly sunny skies with a high around 96.
North Mississippi, mostly sunny today with a high near 98. Heat index values as high as 103 degrees. Tonight, partly cloudy with a low around 76. Tomorrow, a 20 percent chance of rain, most likely in the afternoon. Otherwise, mostly sunny with a high of 99 degrees.
South Mississippi, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 105. Tonight, mostly clear, with a low around 77. Tomorrow, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91 degrees.
