High school students make artwork for local sheriff’s department

RANKIN COUNTY- Students from Northwest Rankin High School decided to give the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department a special gift.

Mrs. Melissa Magee’s art class at NWR presented deputies at the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department with a beautiful and motivational work of art.

The project began as students interviewed deputies and took a tour of the sheriff’s office as well as the jail. Then they took to the canvas. They began creating and they transferred what they had scene and heard into art.

The piece is cherished by the sheriff’s department and now hangs on display in the lobby.
